What a ride. 20knots and more from NorthWest, Gennaker up. New record of 7.6 knots!
Logbook Day 04 – Unije to Silba
Other as expected, the nice wind came in a day early. After a relaxed morning at Unije, I packed up about 14:30. Quickly the main up and the Gennaker to give it some push. And what a ride. The wind increased continuously to over 20 knots, pushing us to above 7knots of speed. Waves got bigger, rolling in from the open sea as we paced along the Mali Losinj island. Miles flew by like nothing. A joy ride!
Time passed and at about 19:00 looking for some place to stay, provide some shelter and being safe. The east coast of Silba island looked good, so took the Gennaker down, jib up and half wind round the norther tip towards the lee side of the island. With the still heavy wind, everything got tilted and staff moved to the other side of the cabin. All good, nothing lost. Calm waters awaited, with the wind still blowing over the island. There were some buoy just up at Silba village.
Nice, safe but with 35 Euro per night also expensive. But too tired to look for some place else, stayed and enjoyed a nice sunset.
