Code Zero
Logbook: 2024.07.04 Sukosan to Losinj / Ilovik
Taking the SUP to the village to re-supply some fresh food. Milk, fruits and vegetables and some sausages for the grill.
A burger for dinner, with fries and lots of ketchup. Enjoyable 🙂
For today, there is no wind in the morning. Some favorable wind predicted from like 10 to about noon time. Later changing to a strong head wind near Losinj, our destination. So we take off early to have a chance to catch that wind at noon, not getting late and having the headwind.
Some easy motoring on plane water. Having a breakfast and some coffee on the way. As predicted, the wind kicked in at about 10:00 am. Perfect timing. Up the sails. Up the Code Zero (a type of sail for lighter winds at a angle of like 70 to 100 degree). We pace at 6 knots. Wonderful. Waves increase, making it difficult with the Code Zero. So back to standard jib. We pass Olib island and cruise further to Ilovik island.
The mooring is in a channel at the Ilovik island, which is equipped with mooring buoys. A safe place for the night, with the strong northerly winds already picking up.
There is a steady current in the channel, that provides for a rich underwater life. Fish circling the boat, looking for some easy food. The water is super clear. It is like floating in mid air.
