Snorkeling at Sivota
Logbook: 2024.06.17 Boukari beach to Sivota / Nikolaos
Sun and a bunch of swallow woke me up. Some 20 or so birds occupied the Jolie Fleur, harvesting the fresh morning dew that condensed on the rig.
There was the plan to visit Paxos island today. However, wind doesn’t execute as expected.
So cruising over to Sivota, Nikolaos island. A very nice anchorage in a channel between two small islands. The channel isn’t deep enough to pass with the sailboat. For small motorboats it is working. So, during the day very busy with small rental motor boats, tourists that are cruising the beaches and discover the islands.
After 19:00 very quiet. Lot’s of fish, excellent snorkeling, …. a wonderful place. There is a constant light current in the channel. That brings in fresh water and nutrition, providing a excellent environment for fish. And for me a good snorkeling adventure, with swarms of fish around.
Towards sunset, a boat with a couple did some photo shootings. Later a “cocktail” boat parked nearby to do their dinner before going to work at the nearby harbor.
One of the best spots so far!
