Easy cruising to Ist
Logbook Day 05 – Silba to Ist

An easy cruising day. Islands protecting from waves, nice breeze.

Ist (the islands) has a nice, sandy bay with lots of space to anchor and protected from all the northern weather. The small village offers some restaurants and the mountain makes a good hike.

Later the day hiking up the chapel on the mountain top. Fantastic view across the Croatian islands. There was a thunderstorm on the mainland, dark clouds, lightning and thunder. A panoramic, surrealistic picture was painted, with dark clouds on one side and sunshine and blue sky on the Adriatic.

For the way down, I followed some initial path … that ended dead after some 20 minutes. Had to fight through some bushes and wood. Way up was some 45 minutes, down some 2 hours. Scratches and mosquito bites all inclusive 🙁

Just arrived back at the Jolie Fleur before the rain came in, acompanied by some heavy gusts of wind. It quickly calmed down after an hour. Sun and blue sky again. Later I took a rope and dived down to an old mooring block, attaching the Jolie Fleur to that as well. A very safe mooring that is.

Taking the SUP to the beach for some dinner at the restaurant. A quick dinner, as there are just too many mosquitos. Even the repellent offered by the restaurant doesn’t help much.
