Pasmanski channel
Logbook: 2024.07.03 Grebastica to Sukosan
Going further north, destination Sukosan. Nice steady wind, little waves. The Jolie Fleur with all sails up competing well with other boats.
An hour later the wind picked up towards 20+ knots, so I put in a reef. Excellent, how she raced upwind.
Upcoming, the Pasmanski channel, between mainland and Pasman island, is a narrow and shallow passage. Already miles before the entry, lots of traffic. Vacation villages and beaches all the way. A good look out for wind- and kite surfers, water jet boats and swimmers. Those are little predictable as the people typically not having a skipper education or caring for rules.
For the passage we follow the red and green marked water way. A large cruise ship is overtaking. Still under sail we would have the right of way. However, it is more save to get out of the way of such big ships. Keeping on the very edge of the water way leaving enough space to maneuver with the wind shifts.
The wind dropped quickly some miles before Suksoan, motoring the last hour to the mooring.
