Sunshine and rain
Logbook Day 12 – Brac to Trogir
A nice, relaxed morning. I got up early. Took the SUP for a spin round the fjord. Most crews are still asleep. Paddling near the shore is like flying, as the water is crystal clear and the eye can hardly differentiate where air end and water begins.
At the entrance to the fjord the “Lady Beth” was at anchor. One of the Top 10% largest private yachts. It is for charter, at 275k Euro per week. Maybe for the next vacation!?
As we just have some 15nm for the day and wind favorable forecasted, we take it on very relaxed. Disembarking of the other crews is always a show. Some smooth and easy, other less experienced with some hassle. One of the medisailors boat got stuck in the mooring line. A near disaster. The boat adrift without control, the nearby crews prepared fenders to soften a possible impact. Quickly one jumped into the water to clear the rope. All clear. Good show. Off they go.
The 15 miles to Trogir are smooth. Getting into the harbor bay. First stop at the petrol station. Next stop Marina Trogir (76 Euro / night).
Tidy up the boat. Taking a long shower. Having a beer. So far sunny. Now clouds rolling in from the West. Dark clouds. Right at that moment, as we decided to have a walk to the city, the rain started. Not a soft dripple. A heavy thunderstorm rain. The city is not build for rain. Quickly large ponds are created, small rivers down the streets.
I will not stop raining for the next couple of hours. Umbrella and rain gear, we look for a nearby restaurant for Dinner. Table Inside. After dinner the rain got less and we had a short walk round the old city center.
